Well it has been too long since I have blogged. This will probably have an array of topics God has been dealing with me on.

First off, politics. I think our country, especially Christians are often all too ready to be quarrelsome on this. I look at the candidates for the upcoming election, and don’t see any of them as someone I think God would vote for if he had to put in a ballot. I respect anyone elected, even if I don’t agree with them, because God has asked us to respect our governing leaders. I do vote out of respect for our country and all those who fought to give us that right, especially with women being allowed to vote. Beyond that, I look at the mess of “hate” speech towards either side that come from Christians, and feel like not being someone filled with hate makes me seem less knowledgeable than those who want fights. God calls us to show his love, keep our tongues in check, and to not be quarrelsome. How are we doing this, when we can’t even keep peace among those who God referred to as our brothers & sisters?

That being said I want to say I am not a hater of others either. Just because the media portrays Christians as haters of anyone different, doesn’t mean we are. The thought on this for example sake comes to mind in the form of my children. I don’t have to like their choices, behaviors, or any other aspect that could be negative in my opinion to still love them. Everyone makes mistakes and bad choices at some point, but that doesn’t mean it automatically makes disagreeing with that choice to be hate. I have always had 4-5 generations alive, and I find it so interesting that not all that long ago adults could have adult conversations without being labeled with extreme words. Many people will have many opinions. You aren’t always going to agree, even with friends, but to turn that to extremes or hate seems childish in my mind.

I am drawing a blank on some of the other things God has been dealing with me on, so I will continue writing when I have further direction.

But-ing

Please read my Intro found in Feb. if you are new to reading my blog. I can't remember if this was 2 seperate thoughts or 1. At the risk of not sleeping or continuing to be distracted in my own head; I need to finally write what has been on my mind for a few days now. As someone who doesn’t like to be in control, and usually has given advice on how not to worry or stress as much as most normally do; I found myself in an interesting spot with God. I had been taking control away from him by “but”ing my way through items I wasn’t ready to let go of. I have many examples of this, but will use the most specific example I can think of.
